Making potent and effective Tinctures
The ancient practice of using abundant local plants is at the heart of the wise woman tradition. When we learn to look closely at the diverse array of life growing right at our feet and in the branches overhead we open a channel of communication. These remarkable plants can become our closest allies in finding wellbeing and harmony in our lives.
The core value of kitchen witchery lies in developing an intimate practice with the plants at our feet. This approach emphasizes deepening relationships with a handful of herbal allies. We become kitchen witches when we bring these familiar plants into our kitchens, at the heart of our daily care routines.

We will focus on a specific medicine making technique and discuss which herbs are most effective.

Julie has been making effective herbal remedies for over 20 years. She has primarily studied within the Wise Women tradition and believes that the herbs we need the most are the ones that grow alongside us.
She is a student of the Vitalist tradition of Western herbalism which studies the energetics of the plants, considers the constitution of the person and creates individual wellness protocols including herbal remedies, nature connection, nutrition and daily rituals or care-routines. There is no “right path” to wellness, every BODY is unique.
Julie will be teaching this system of relating to herbs because it allows even beginners to formulate effective remedies with only a dozen or so safe and nutritive herbs that can be incorporated into daily life to invite balance.
Julie also listens to the plants and listens to her body to inform her choice of herbs. In short, she’s a witch, and welcomes all kind-hearted individuals to practice alongside her.
Our classroom space will be one of mutual respect and care for every BODY.
