Making Tinctures: fresh plant method
Saturday August 1st 9:30am-noon at Laughing Rabbit Farm
Learn how to work with fresh plants to make potent tinctures. Seasonal herbs will be provided from the farm. Students will work with organic cane alcohol (non-alcoholic options are also available - apple cider vinegar or glycerin).
We will cover techniques, basic phytochemistry of alcohol extraction, and the foundations of formulation. Discussions about herb actions and energetics will inform each student’s creation of their own custom formula. Prepare for cold and flu season, make bitters to support digestion, create a blend to calm your nervous system. Tinctures are a versatile and potent home remedy.
This class is appropriate for beginners and seasoned medicine makers.
Each student will go home with a 16oz custom tincture, recipes and class notes.
Cancellation policy: A full refund will be provided at least 3 full business days prior to class. Cancellations less than 3 days prior will receive a 50% refund.
